Who is the Palladium Brass Quintet? Michael Thompson, Trumpet, has been a member of the Omaha Symphony Trumpet Section since 1985. He has severed as 2nd trumpet in the Nebraska Chamber Orchestra and the Lincoln Symphony from 1988 until 2003 when he won the Principal Trumpet chair in the Lincoln Symphony. Mr. Thompson is also a frequent performer with the San Diego Symphony. Tom Kelly, Trumpet, received his undergraduate degree in trumpet performance at Winona State University (Winona MN.) and a Master’s degree in trumpet performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In addition to the Palladium Brass. Tom is a 2nd trumpet in the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and also performs with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, Nebraska Choral Arts Society and The Omaha Jazz Orchestra. Louis J. Stout, Horn, has worked for Chip Davis, at American Gramaphone, as Publishing Coordinator and Orchestral Assistant since 1988. He also plays Assistant Principal Horn with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Omaha Brass Ensemble. Mr. Stout also contracts musicians for musicals, shows and other musical engagements in the Omaha area. Mark Mendell, Trombone, originally from Salina, Kansas, earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Fort Hays State University, in Hays, Kansas, and a Masters Degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Iowa. He has played with the Cedar Rapids Symphony, the Lincoln Symphony, the Omaha Symphony, the Des Moines Big Band, the Omaha Big Band and the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra. Steve Steager, Tuba, is Director of Bands at Fremont Middle School in Fremont, Nebraska. Mr. Steager received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha where he was the first undergraduate Tuba student to win the James B. Peterson Solo Competition. Steve works with many ensembles in the Omaha area including the Omaha Brass Ensemble and he is the founder of the party band - Boardwalk. What time will you arrive at my wedding? We will arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to your prelude music, which begins 30 minutes prior to your ceremony. What set up do you need? All we require are five chairs without arms. Please inform us if the ceremony will have dim lighting, as we will bring lights. Will the Brass Quintet come to my rehearsal? No, the Palladium Brass does not attend rehearsals. Will you play at an outdoor event? Yes, brass is great for an outdoor event as you do not need electronic amplification. Will you accompany my vocalist? We will accompany a vocalist for no extra fee, provided they will be singing a selection that is in our repertoire. Should this be the case, we will arrive 15 minutes early, to run through the vocalists’ selection. How should I coordinate my music selections for my ceremony? We will gladly provide you with a list of common music used during different parts of the wedding ceremony. We should be notified of your choices two weeks prior to your ceremony. Will you play my special request? We evaluate special requests on a case by case basis, and will attempt to make your request possible. Should your request not fall in the standard brass quintet literature an additional fee may be required to hire an arranger. A minimum of six weeks is required for this extra service. How is payment handled? We require a $150 deposit to reserve your time slot. The remaining balance is due in full two weeks prior to your event. All payment is handled through our agent, Thompson Music. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express. |
